Is Your Will Up-To-Date

Anyone with kids needs Wills or at least one Will. Let's say you’re married and you and your spouse are killed in an accident, who do you want to raise your kids? Without wills do you know who decides this? CYF’S (Child, Youth and Family) and or a judge is going to determine who is best fit for your child. The person they pick might not be the person you want raising your kids, but if you don't let your wishes be known in a Will or Wills then this is what will happen. Still think you don't need Wills?

What about the money for your kids, who controls that? Without a Will stating this question the probate court will determine who controls your child's money until there 18 years old. All of this can be avoided if you take out the time and sit down and let your feels be known.

If you're still thinking so what, I don't need any wills my family will take care of my kids just fine

then here's another reason to get a Will. At age 18 your child becomes an adult. The CYFS payments stop from  coming in and now the person taking care of your kid is an adult and can be put out onto the streets. If you have a Will you can decide to give your money to the child when there 18 to help them get started in life. Without a Will it's up to the person the court has appointed as there guardian to control the money. Money changes people and you certainly don't want it to affect your children.

So you see if you have kids then you need Wills to protect your kids if something was to happen to you. It's not about you it's about the kids. Make a will for your kids future regardless if you agree or not that they are good.
